Bogota, NJ - December 27: Dikran Tulaine performs A special recitation of Charles Dickens' famed A Christmas Carol, organized by The Schiller Institute at Bogart Memorial Church on Saturday, December 27, 2014 in Bogota, NJ. A Christmas Carol was published by Charles Dickens on December, 19, 1843. From 1857 on, Dickens himself performed public readings of his story, including performances of A Christmas Carol during his second American tour, which began in 1867. His readings were so popular that people camped overnight in the streets to buy tickets.
The Schiller Institute, founded by Helga Zepp LaRouche, the wife of the statesman/economist Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr. is working around the world to defend the rights of all humanity to progress --material, moral and intellectual. The Schiller Institute is named after Friedrich Schiller, the 18th-century German poet and playwright, whose works have inspired republican opposition to oligarchic tyranny worldwide.
The past year, while riddled with crises, has also opened up new prospects for mankind, especially centered around the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), beginning to adopting Alexander Hamilton's approach to economy. The work of the Schiller Institute has been crucial to this process. (Photo by Steve Mack/S.D. Mack Pictures)
